The Power of Improving Metabolic Health and Stimulating Autophagy
Treating Long Covid and Vaccine Injury: is Diet Part of the Answer?
At the onset of this horrific pandemic, I was in the same boat as most physicians across the globe—I had no idea how to treat this disease. But unlike those doctors who ascribed to the “just wait and vaccinate” approach, I actively sought out information from physicians and scientists that were reporting successes in treatment. It was through this worldwide network, along with my own experiences treating patients, that I have come to this point in my life as a clinician.
I’d like to recognize some of the doctors that have had tremendous positive influence on me through their willingness to be outspoken and courageous as well as share their knowledge and findings. People like Dr. Richard Urso, Dr. Ryan Cole and Dr. Peter McCullough come to mind. I have come to know and develop a close friendship with Drs. Robert and Jill Malone and have learned so very much from them. We talk and see one another frequently and share ideas and experiences. Their thoughts and willingness to share their knowledge and expertise has been invaluable.
While I have never met Drs. Pierre Kory and Paul Marik, I credit them for saving countless lives during the pandemic. Through their tireless work, courage and research they have developed the FLCCC protocols for treatment of all things covid. Physicians all over the globe are able to use these very valuable and lifesaving treatment protocols. The impact they have had is absolutely astounding.
I began implementing the FLCCC protocols in my practice after my good friend Colby May sent me a link to Dr Kory’s US Senate testimony on the use of repurposed drugs in treatment of Covid-19. This testimony afforded me critical knowledge that I used that very same week to save the life of a wonderful 88-year-old patient and family friend.
That leads me to today’s topic: treatment of both Long Covid as well as vaccine injury.
While different illnesses, they have many similar characteristics and my treatment approaches in both are similar. In my practice, I am seeing many patients that seem to suffer from a combination of both long covid and vaccine injury. For instance, a patient that has contracted and recovered from one of the variants of Covid-19 and later receives either the primary mRNA injection or a booster seems to be most severely affected and can present with a multitude of symptoms. While every patient is unique, and I individualize my treatment plan based on many factors, including the patient’s symptoms, health history, comorbidities and risk factors, the FLCCC protocols usually provide a good starting point. Taking this approach, I’ve had dramatic improvement or total resolution of symptomatology in greater than 95% of the patients that I have treated.
While I have had great success in treating long covid and vaccine injury, I’ve been surprised to read other physician accounts reporting mediocre success in treating these illnesses. Why? I use many of the same medications available to other physicians.
After considering this discrepancy I’ve come to the conclusion that my level of success in treating long covid and vaccine injury is likely due to the emphasis I place on counseling patients on and implementing a healthy diet, starting an exercise regimen, and the stimulation of autophagy through intermittent fasting.
The basis for most disease processes is inflammatory in nature. During patient appointments, I take the time to educate every patient on the human body’s natural ability to heal itself through improved metabolic health and reduction in systemic inflammation. By improving metabolic health and reducing inflammation, we can prevent and treat diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, autoimmune disorders, anxiety, depression and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, as well as prepare the body and mind to fight viral infections (such as covid) and their complications.
In addition to seeing my patients’ success, I personally have benefitted from an anti-inflammatory diet in treatment of my own arthritis and early metabolic syndrome. In September of 2018 at the United States Cattlemen’s Association meeting in Billings Montana I met Dr. Shawn Baker, a former orthopedic surgeon who is a leading authority on the carnivore diet. I am thankful Dr. Baker convinced me of the power of this anti-inflammatory, low-carb (no) diet in curing and reversing disease and aging. That following January, my wife, Ann and I started following a strict carnivore diet. Within 2 months I was off antihypertensive medication, my arthritic shoulder was tremendously improved, arthritis symptoms in my hands had resolved, my sleep was improved, mental recall and sharpness had returned to my youthful levels, acid reflux and gastro-intestinal issues disappeared, my triglyceride levels dropped dramatically (from well over 300 down to 75), my HDL cholesterol had jumped from 35 to 77, and in general I felt far younger and much better.
I started promoting this life saving diet to patients and quickly saw that it dramatically reduces inflammation and alters the course of chronic diseases. I’ve seen this diet reverse many chronic inflammatory disease states and cure type 2 diabetes! It has been dramatic in removing the need for medications in hypertension, depression, autoimmune diseases, IBS, and inflammatory bowel disease. It has become apparent to me that by stimulating autophagy, reducing inflammation, and reversing autoimmune mechanisms, you will also improve and/or cure spike protein related illness.
In using the FLCCC protocols as a starting point, combined with a ketogenic/animal based or carnivore diet and intermittent fasting, one can dramatically reduce insulin levels and the resultant inflammatory state. These diet changes, along with exercise, melatonin supplementation, getting adequate sleep, and spending time in the sun and breathing nature’s clean air has done wonders for not only my spike injured patients, but every patient suffering from chronic disease in my practice.
While the pandemic may be over, Covid is here to stay. We must continue to improve treatments for SARS-COV-WIV, Long Covid and Spike protein induced vaccinal injury. Far too many in the medical community continue to ignore this epidemic of mRNA/Spike injury and or remain ignorant of effective treatment protocols. We also must work to get these very toxic and ineffective shots removed from the market as well as demand that public health acknowledge and commit resources to the victims of vaccine injury!
