Ann and I recently attended CPAC DC 2024, Where Globalism Goes to Die. This happens to be the 50th anniversary of this great event where conservatives from all over the world come to share ideas and fight for truth, freedom and sovereignty. This year CPAC was held in conjunction with the International Crisis Summit 5 (ICS 5) making the event bigger and better than ever before. The theme was strong in opposition of the Globalist movement promoted by unelected elites from the likes of the WHO, UN, WEF, George Soros and the Gates Foundation. These megalomaniacal psychopaths seek to control civilization under one world order destroying our constitution and along with it our freedoms, national sovereignty and individual human rights.
I was proud to be asked to serve on a panel (THE GOOD DOCTORS) with 2 men I have come to know, love and admire, Dr Robert Malone and Jan Jekielek of Epoch Times (American Thought Leaders) where we touched on medical ethics, the Hippocratic Oath, the centralized control of medicine and the resultant deterioration of the doctor patient relationship. We also touched on the Globalists’ goal to destroy our ability to grow our food through regulations and fear using the Climate Change agenda to achieve those goals. Those who Control the food Control the People.
We were joined by many good close friends this year including Nina May who sent me this email today on the history of CPAC. I felt compelled to share. Thank you, Nina, for this beautiful account of 50 years of CPAC.
I’m proud to a part of CPAC history!
CPAC … 50 years Later
(Nina May Feb 29, 2024)
At the 2024 CPAC conference, just a few days ago, I had a funny encounter with someone in an elevator who saw my name tag and asked what conference I was attending. When I told him CPAC, he said, “Oh is that about the sleep machines that keep you from snoring?”
The elevator door opened just as he said that, and it hit me … he thought I said CPAP … Continuous Positive Airway Pressure. I was still laughing as I thought about the symbolism of that comment.
I have been attending CPAC since the Reagan days and have witnessed a kind of parallel evolution of the political arena and the changes within the country. And like a CPAP machine, the gathering of conservatives in a toxic environment allows for continuous positive pressure against forces that restrict the good air of freedom, creativity, individuality and a sense of divine purpose in every person.
I have participated in CPAC in a variety of ways from having display booths in the convention center, to being a speaker. My favorite was a speech about the hypocrisy of the women’s movement as they turned a blind eye to the boorish and misogynist actions of a hound dog president while leveling erroneous accusations at conservatives who actually champion the rights of women. It’s not conservatives who are allowing men to steal sports spots from young women … culturally appropriating their very existence. And it’s not conservative men that champion a woman’s right to rectify man’s sexual appetite by making sure she can be mutilated in a move to kill his offspring.
I recall referencing their lack of candor and awareness as being as relevant in the political arena as coprolite. I went ahead and gave the definition to put a fine point on the disdain I have for the feminist movement, revealing that they were as relevant as fossilized dinosaur dung. That was probably more polite than saying “old s—t.”
It is poignant for me that this year is the 50th anniversary of the founding of CPAC because my dear friend and mentor, Stan Evans, while head of ACU, pulled the first one together in 1974 and had as the first speaker a man who, six years later, would become president … Ronald Reagan. Stan arguably could be called one of the founders of the conservative movement in America. He wrote the historic Sharon Statement at William F. Buckley’s home in Sharon Conn. in 1960. It became a type of rallying cry for all things conservative.
.
That was the placing of the banner on the battlefield of ideas and a corporate rallying crying for conservatives spread across the nation like wildfire. The push back against the gathering forces of blatant socialism began to metastasize in the nation. It was strategically and brilliantly planned by the left to bloody the right, wound the Republican Party and divide the nation over anything that would position those leftists for a complete takeover of the country.
They brilliantly chose an unknown peanut farmer to appeal to the new emerging block of voters … the Born-Again Christians who before this had been told that politics was evil, stay away. But Jimmy Carter invited them in with open arms, to a rotten party, riddled with scandal, debauchery, and a racist, segregationist past. The Born Agains looked at the options in the room and decided, yes, we would become politically active, but not in the party of Jim Crow, KKK, slavery and oppression.
That was an eye opener for all the political wonks who were thrilled by this new voting block but didn’t know exactly how to deal with them. No one was thinking God and politics was a plausible concoction until they started dusting off old books and realizing the country was founded by Godly men. They knew and were willing to die for the idea that God intended man to live free, to explore the invitation to be co-creators with Him and to be free of oppression by any force or other men.
CPAC, through the years, put a toe in the water of religion and politics, inviting people like Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Paul Crouch, and many other strong men of God to remind the attendees of the importance of keeping God in the equation, if we are to achieve the political goals we all embrace.
But, like anything that involves the hand of man, the political side was always dominate in every CPAC convention to the point of warring factions dividing the conference over minute distinctions when in reality everyone pretty much agreed on about 95% of everything. But there is something in the water when conservatives gather. They all push for a total agreement on that last 5% and elevate it to be the one thing in a divorce that neither side will capitulate on.
The term “circular firing squad” comes to mind as I recall the vitriol that would permeate the proceedings. Lots of puffing and posturing, carving out backroom deals and declarations, forgetting the real purpose of the gathering … to defeat the left. The left that was trying and is still trying to remake America in the image of … fill in the blank of any socialist/Marxist nation.
CPAC has seen many changes from when Stan Evans hosted the first one, and ironically it has come full circle under the amazing leadership of Matt and Mercy Schlapp. They are the face of conservatism in America because they reflect the same spirit of the founding warriors who put aside all personal differences with the fellow warrior at their side. They pointed their weapons at the true enemy, calling on the Lord of all nations to sustain and equip them for battle and victory.
CPAC 2024 had an unwritten theme, beyond the very timely and appropriate, “This is where globalism goes to die.” And that theme was that all of this is an empty gesture without the presence of the One who has orchestrated it all, since before the foundation of the earth. To the person who spoke, everyone mentioned the need to get back to basics with our faith, that that would be the only way to defeat this leviathan that is breathing down our collective necks.
The sense of urgency was palpable and the unfettered acknowledgement that God is Supreme in all things, and without Him, this country is standing on the precipice of ultimate demise.
No longer was there a spirit of competition and condemnation for picking the wrong candidate to back. Hubris was replaced by humility and an awareness that our small, insignificant efforts to stop a speeding freight train meant we had but one way to look, and that was to God.
After the National Anthem at the Reagan Dinner, the singer lead everyone in a praise song declaring how great our God is. You could feel His presence in the room and the praise went on for quite a while. It was cleansing, refreshing, reassuring and served as an instant reminder that God has our back. We are fighting for the things that He has set in motion and has created us … for this time … to fight for and against.
There was 3%, based on the polls, that didn’t get the memo that this CPAC conference was about unity of purpose, with the help of God to accomplish it. President Trump spoke to the thousands of people with the comfort of a seat at your dining room table. His calm and funny demeanor in the face of an avalanche of weaponized specious legal claims was actually reassuring. If he is not worried about the mounting assaults, then we shouldn’t be especially because the Lord tells us, “Be anxious for nothing,” and, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper.” I am actually watching with interest as all of Haman’s nooses are being erected because we all know that didn’t end well for him and his sons.
Then the physical illustration of the impossible happening was when the new president of Argentina, Javier Milei spoke, in simple terms, about the tragedy of socialism versus the freedom and liberate of the free-market system and democracy, ending with that word, punctuated by raised arms.
The takeaway from CPAC 2024… including from the accompanying ICS (International Crisis Summit), organized by DRs Robert and Jill Malone, was that God is at the core of all things and to ignore, reject or deny Him is to your peril. He is at the heart of all we do, and we can do nothing without His guidance and wisdom. We are fallen creatures in search of meaning and only God can fill that void.
People need to see it before it’s too late, when they will have no choice. We have seen this pattern in world history and America is not exempt from the type of physical, political, and emotional persecution visited on all who are not spiritually prepared.
Everyone better get ready, there’s a train a comin’ and to choose not to get on board will be a decision that can’t be rectified once the train has left the station.
CPAC 2024 was a wakeup call that things are changing fast and furious. If hard core political animals can set aside their differences and agendas for a few days, acknowledging that only God can save us, then maybe there is hope for the country. Prayer and a merciful God are the only things that can save us.
God bless Matt and Mercy, all the people at CPAC (not to be confused with CPAP) and God Bless America
